Therapy

Clinical Psychologist's are trained to provide a range of psychological therapies. Since training Jennie has undertaken additional therapy training in a range of approaches. The main approaches that Jennie uses are described below;

Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy

DDP is a relationship focused therapy that involves working with caregivers and children to build trust and connection in their relationship. DDP can be particularly helpful for children and families that have experienced early adversity that has impacted on their ability to form relationships of trust. DDP may be delivered as parent/ caregiver only sessions supporting parents/ caregivers  to understand their child and support their relationship with them. Or it may involve child & parent/ caregiver sessions helping to explore the child’s experiences of the relationship and their inner world with the support of the therapist present.

More information about DDP can be found at www.ddpnetwork.org

Building Underdeveloped Sensory Systems (BUSS©)

Following training in BUSS© Jennie is excited to be joining the BUSS© team. She is currently completing Level 3 BUSS© accreditation which enables her to offer supervised BUSS© assessments and interventions to families. BUSS© is a sensorimotor intervention for children who may have experienced disruption to their early sensory and motor development due to early neglect, trauma and adversity. BUSS© gives close consideration to the critical importance of early relationships in childhood and how these relationships can shape our sensori-motor systems.
